Seth Sjöström - Kom Hem
Seth Sjöström - Kom Hem
(Digital)
Following the duo record Come Give Me Love with Irma Neumüller and the trio EP Alm with Steven Moser and Carlo Dayyani, Kom Hem is Seth’s first album consisting solely of Sjöströms compositions and artistic vision. It is a collection of pieces written over the course of nearly four years. The music is in many ways influenced by the contemporary Nordic jazz sound while also drawing inspiration from the scene for improvised music in Berlin
Thematically, the album reflects his experiences as a young adult trying to find his place in the world. It explores the concept of “home,” as well as the search for it, geographically, artistically, in the people we share our lives with, and within ourselves.
Although most of the compositions are written and arranged in a linear way, the record as a whole also represents the cyclical nature of this search. One day you might feel like you’re on the right path, only to find yourself questioning everything the next. And so the search begins again. It can be a tiring process, but with every reevaluation you learn something new, and in every cycle there is beauty to be found.
Ronja Andersson(vocals), Isak Ingvarsson(saxophone, clarinet), Jakob Øland(piano), Seth Sjöström (electric bass)
