Piano Music 2 is Alessandro Sgobbio’s follow-up to his acclaimed “Piano Music” (AMP Music & Records, 2022). The Italian pianist and composer presents nine new intimate compositions, each of them dedicated to a person, place or topic that have a special meaning and importance to him.

The album is a meditative sound experience that invites the listeners to actively reconnect with the powerful meanings of natural and spiritual elements (“Modular Circles”, “The River”, “Tula”, ” Einhausung”), finding inspirations from special historical episodes of cities as Paris (“Îlot Chalon” is dedicated to one of the first cosmopolitan picturesque Parisian districts that unfortunately has faced intentional degradation until its demolition) and Venezia (“Fondamenta de la Tana”), two of Sgobbio’s most beloved places on earth. There are also some very special tributes: the opening track “Keys and Returns” is dedicated to journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, while the two versions of ” Asker” (which takes its name from the homonym Norwegian town) are dedicated to Sgobbio’s mentor, composer pianist Misha Alperin.“
