Composer and pianist Alessandro Sgobbio makes return to his primal vocation with Piano Music, a new solo recording of intimate piano epistles and dedications.

The repertoire features Sgobbio’s unreleased compositions from his live recitals as well as brand new music written during the recent pandemic times. During the lockdown, Sgobbio has started playing the piano and writing down some ideas he has been recording in the past years, which eventually took the form of a new composition: several unreleased melodies and music fragments came from Sgobbio's handwritten Moleskines, as well as his audio-recording archive of several rehearsals recorded around all Europe.

As a traveling musician, Sgobbio has being reflecting on the impact of his physical distance from many loved ones’ lives (his parents, his very young niece), and processing the absence of human beings who left this world and have been so inspirational to him, as his mentor, composer and pianist Misha Alperin.
